The Ron Wood Family Resource Center originally started as a truancy project for the Carson City community in 1995 and has quickly grown to include family development, family advocacy, newborn/infant/toddler activities, child safety, service learning and a variety of youth and family support groups. The center also provides emergency food supplies, a library and a network of community social service resources.



Our Family Advocate works with elderly clients to assist them in working with other community agencies or to access government services. The center also processes commodities applications for seniors to receive monthly food supplements.



We have parenting classes open to all ages.

F.I.R.E. - Anger Management classes for middle and high school students

Reach Up! - Free mental health assessment and coaching for youth 3 - 17 years old.



Car Seat Safety Program - Car seats are available and installed by a state certified technician. Purchase of car seats are available at a sliding scale fee for low income individuals.
